The GIS Social club is run by the Social Commitee whose aim is to organise a broad range activities that will appeal to all GIS staff. The committee regularly organise events and activities like karting, boating, golf days, Go Ape
and visits to venues such as Newmarket Races
, Bletchley Park
, and London Science Museum
. These events provide a relaxed environment that allows employees to have fun as part of a shared experience and often extend to include family members.
Technical Support Team Leader
" My career with GIS started in 2011 as a Production Assistant, but shortly after that I was given a chance to start a new technical support role in 2012.
Over time the technical support team has grown significantly to become a big asset to the company. I enjoy working at GIS because the quality of my work has a direct impact on the time taken for a customer to get from the development stage of machine building to productionisation. My role as Technical Support Team Leader is very varied and requires a wide knowledge of printing practices as well as in-depth knowledge of subtle electrical, software and physical effects on printing systems. Another interesting part of the work is working with experts from various technical fields to investigate and solve customer issues in the field sometimes under time critical constraints."
Software Test Engineer
" I started my career with GIS in 2013 as a Junior Test Engineer for production. In 2015 I moved into the role of Software Test Engineer. As a Test Engineer my initial focus is to quality control software developments to contribute towards customer satisfaction. I enjoy working at GIS because I have lots of opportunities to develop rich test software and my department is now correctly equipped for quality management. Additionally I get plenty of opportunities to build hardware test equipment. GIS hasve also been supportive of my studies in engineering and later this year I will attain my HNC in Electrical Engineering."
