GIS High Speed Variable Data Printing at IPEX 2010

By Published 11th May 2010News

Global Inkjet Systems (GIS), a leading developer of integrated printhead operating systems, today confirmed that the latest ColourPrint engine from Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ) is powered by GIS technology.

Incorporating 16 Konica Minolta 1024 greyscale capable printheads (4 per colour), the ColourPrint 282 offers an 11” print path and will be shown at IPEX demonstrating the power of GIS variable data and printhead stitching software at 27m/min.

GIS technology is increasingly being used in large inkjet systems as a single source solution provider for software and electronics. Nick Geddes, Managing Director explained, “As companies scale up their single pass systems – printing wider and faster – the complexity of the printer in terms of data volume and printhead control increases dramatically. Our aim is to get customers to market faster and we are delighted to be working with IIJ on their ColourPrint series of engines.”

John Corrall, Managing Director of IIJ added “Konica Minolta printheads are well-known in the market for their reliability, so it makes sense for us to work with a company whose software and electronics also have a strong reputation for reliability.”

The IIJ ColourPrint 282, incorporating GIS technology, will be shown on the Konica Minolta stand at IPEX – Hall 9 stand D340.
