GIS Supports Customers in Ceramic Tile Market – Announces Electronics for Xaar 1001 GS12 and TTEC CF1L Printheads

Global Inkjet Systems (GIS), a leading developer of software drivers and electronics for industrial inkjet printheads, today announced new electronics for the Xaar 1001 GS12 and TTEC CF1L printheads – further strengthening the company’s product offering to machine manufacturers in the ceramic tile market.

Announced recently, the new Xaar 1001 GS12 and TTEC CF1L are both large drop capable printheads, designed specifically for the ceramics market – and complement their smaller drop versions, the Xaar 1001 GS6 and TTEC CF1.

In an innovative move, GIS has developed a new dual Head Interface Board (HIB) design, which can drive either version of printhead. The GIS HIB-XR-1001L supports the new Xaar 1001 GS12 and also the established Xaar 1001 GS6. Similarly, the GIS HIB-TT-636L supports both the TTEC CF1 and the new CF1L printhead. Both HIBs require a single 24V power supply only and support the full operating voltage ranges of the printheads.

These new dual HIB designs mean that OEMs can enhance their product offering by designing a single platform machine and yet still deliver a Xaar 1001 GS6 or a GS12 – or a TTEC CF1 or a TTEC CF1L – according to their end customer’s requirements. The HIBs allow greater flexibility in the manufacturing process and printhead types can be mixed on a single machine if desired.

2012 has seen a raft of new printhead introductions – all targeting the ceramics market. Earlier this year, GIS announced electronics for the new Fujifilm Dimatix StarFire SG1024/M-C and also the Konica Minolta KM1024i-M – enabling customers to start developing new machines quickly.

“This extensive printhead portfolio means that GIS can provide our customers with software and electronics for the printheads users are demanding. As this market becomes increasingly competitive, it’s critical to machine manufacturers and their customers that they can adopt new printhead technology quickly,” said Nick Geddes, CEO of GIS
